The Organic Pink Grapefruit Jam from Frantoi Cutrera is made with Star Ruby grapefruits, typical of Siracusa, particularly from the municipality of Noto, known for being very rich in essential oils and thus flavorful, aromatic, and sweet. A jam that brings the true taste of Sicily to your breakfast table!
The Cutrera family, to achieve this extraordinary handmade jam, cooks the fruit in a low-pressure, low-temperature pot (60°C) to preserve the nutritional characteristics and the natural aromas of the grapefruits. This allows the jam to have an enveloping aroma and a balanced flavor between sweetness and characteristic bitterness.
The Grapefruit of Noto is one of the most representative varieties in Italy. A curiosity: it is an ancient hybrid, probably between sweet orange and pomelo, which has been an independent species for centuries. The intense pink flesh, sweet and juicy, makes the Star Ruby variety the sweetest among the sour citrus fruits.
