Oranges from Ribera Sicilia BIO pack 4kg

This package consists of organic oranges of caliber 3 – 4 (one of the largest), all of the Washington Navel quality, which is one of the finest oranges from the DOP Ribera, the so-called “navel oranges”.

The “blonde navels” (forgive us this nickname for Vito's oranges) have a thick rind, a navel, and an average weight of 250g.

Eleven segments of goodness, seedless, with an abundant light orange juice and a sugar/acid ratio of 12. These oranges are excellent for the table or for juicing. Their juice is also ideal for making delicious orange cakes.

The oranges come from the beautiful plain of Ribera and, in particular, from the first hills of Villafranca Sicula. Here, Vito Perricone leads a biological excellence reality that has been cultivating oranges, mandarins, lemons, grapefruits, and citrons for years. The harvesting is done following a strict hygiene protocol for the person and with the use of gloves, because the orange must not be contaminated or dirty in any way from the peel - neither treated nor waxed.

Oranges from Ribera Sicilia BIO pack 4kg: use in the kitchen

Due to the size of the segments and the absence of seeds, these Ribera DOP oranges are excellent as a dessert.
We also recommend a simple traditional Sicilian recipe, which is to eat them in a salad with wild fennel, a few drops of extra virgin olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt (in Sicily, onion and some black olives are often used as well); they will become superb.

The peel, being untreated, can be used to flavor cooking bases for white meats, to be grated into batters for leavened cakes.
