The Sbrisolona is a delicious cake typical of Mantuan pastry. Originally a poor man's dessert, it was made with wheat flour, corn flour, and lard; later, it was enriched with almonds and natural flavors.
"Parole nel piatto" offers a more "modern" version, using butter instead of lard and a proper balance between "00" flour and corn flour.
Only fresh ingredients are used, mixed just enough to maintain the characteristic of Sbrisolona: its crumbly texture.

The sbrisolona is a dessert for all occasions, from breakfast with milk or coffee to a tasty snack accompanied by a glass of sweet passito wine. It pairs, like almost all desserts, with dessert wines or sweet wines such as Recioto di Soave, an aromatic white wine.
