The carrots we present to you come from Sicily, more precisely from organic farms located in Ispica, in the province of Ragusa. Of the semi-long variety, this carrot has the classic cylindrical-conical shape, with a shiny appearance, bright orange color, and good size. It is undoubtedly a humble vegetable, but enriched by the aromas and flavors of a territory like Sicily, which, thanks to the characteristics of the climate and its soil, manages to give rise to an unmatched product.
An herbaceous and fruity aroma, a sweet and engaging taste. The Ispica carrot is very rich in beta carotene (not to mention vitamin A) and other vitamins from the B group, PP, D, and E; it provides a strong antioxidant action that combats free radicals; regulates cholesterol levels; prevents aging; boosts the body's defenses.
The BIO Ispica Carrots (which we present on this page in a quantity of 1kg) are quite sweet and pair perfectly with desserts, but they are also worth trying alongside certain cheeses, such as Ragusano Quattrofacce DOP or Caciocavallo. They are very good as a stew for red mullet or as a sauce in game dishes, such as rabbit. Raw, they are absolutely delicious. Perhaps sliced and added to a salad or cooked into a purée. They are also delightful sautéed in a pan with oil, garlic, and chili pepper.
