The commitment of AIS Veneto in favor of childhood is renewed with AIS Rovigo and Ca' Lustra, united in the sixth edition of the solidarity project Alba Vitae. A delegation from AIS Veneto has selected a wine excellence from the region for this solidarity project, which is bottled in an exclusive magnum format. AIS Veneto's intent is to donate the proceeds to charitable works. This is why this wine becomes important, acquiring a dual value: a product of the highest quality and a tangible sign of social commitment.
The wine central to this initiative is 'A Cengia 2016 from the Ca' Lustra Zanovello winery in Cinto Euganeo (Padua), a trendy wine like the dry moscato that expresses itself at a very high level in the Euganean Hills. Exclusively for this edition, the magnum Alba Vitae is combined with two other vintages in 750ml format: 2015 and 2014. A special gift that becomes an extraordinary testimonial of the evolutionary potential of this wine.
All proceeds from Alba Vitae 2017 will be donated to G.I.C. Giovani in Cammino Onlus of Rovigo, an organization that works to make young disabled people autonomous by giving meaning to their lives and helping them understand that disability is a surmountable limit if they can be useful to others and themselves. Thus, the wine, the result of loving care by humans, becomes with Alba Vitae the bearer of passion and sensitivity from the Italian Sommelier Association Veneto, always attentive to the values of support and social sharing.
'A Cengia by Ca' Lustra Zanovello is a wine rich in aromas, reminiscent of classic sweet moscato, but in reality, it is a dry and crisp wine that evolves into attractive and very original aromatic complexities in just a few years. Its solid mineral structure allows for challenging pairings such as certain tartars of both meat and fish, dishes with asparagus and salmon. It is also excellent as an aperitif. Serve at 13-15°C.
Made from Moscato Bianco and Fior d’Arancio Euganeo grapes. Vinification takes place in large oak barrels. After a traditionally long fermentation (even many months), it remains on the fine lees for some time before being bottled just before the new harvest.
Its name comes from the "cengie", narrow terraces carved by farmers over centuries of hard and continuous work on the steep slopes of the Valle Cengiolina, home to the oldest vines of Fior d’Arancio and other moscatos. The "cengie" allow for the cultivation of precious vineyards where the minerals and particular light conditions enable the production of wines with intense flavors and unique aromas.
