The Uva Rara is the name given to Bonarda in the areas of Novara, particularly in Ghemme.
The vineyard is located in the Rossini area and was planted in 1965. The vines are now fifty years old and offer an extraordinary product in terms of the content in the grapes and the final balance achieved in the wine. The vineyard spans one hectare and is situated at about 220 meters above sea level. The training system is guyot on clayey, loamy morainic soils.
Both vinification and malolactic fermentation are carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The maturation in the tanks takes place for 16 months. It is an unfiltered wine, so if there are any particles left at the bottom, that is the reason.
