The Pora Barbaresco Riserva DOCG 2015 from the winery Musso is a wine produced in the vineyard that the company owns in the Geographical Mention “Pora”, formerly known as Cittadella di Pora. Here, the soil reproduces the characteristic mixture of limestone and clay that gives the wines fullness of character and the ability to withstand the test of time.
Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo
Soil: this is a large vineyard, about 2 and a half hectares, with predominantly limestone soil and frequent interspersions of clay. Thus, the soil is complete and compact and particularly suitable for the cultivation of Nebbiolo.
Altitude: between 240 and 280 meters above sea level
Winemaking: harvested by hand, the grapes undergo crushing with destemming in the cellar. Then, the vinification follows the traditional cliché, in steel containers. The maceration lasts about 20 days and occurs with the cap submerged and periodic pump-overs. The fermentation temperatures range between 28 and 30° C.
Aging: after the racking, the new wine ages in 50-hectoliter oak barrels for 12 months and for another 10-12 months in 20-hectoliter barrels, until the aging period is complete.
Bottling: after this evolutionary period, the Barbaresco “Pora” is bottled in the summer of the second year after the harvest. In the lying bottle, the wine evolves for 7-8 months. Then, finally, the market and consumption period begins.
Vintage: 2015
Alcohol content: 14.5%
The Pora Barbaresco Riserva DOCG 2015 from the winery Musso is the classic red wine for meat. Traditionally, it was preferred with game, but today its complexity and fullness make it perfect with all red meats and cooked in various ways, from roasts to stews and braises of local and international cuisine. As time passes and the aging improves, Barbaresco does not always need gastronomic company, but it becomes a great ally for tasting that marks thoughts and emotions.
Color: decided and intact garnet red that shows no hesitation
Perfume: ethereal, decidedly rich in fragrant scents like maraschino cherries, raspberry, and wild strawberry, followed by notes of dried flowers. Additionally, the first spicy signals are appreciated with cinnamon and vanilla
Taste: full, warm, intense, enveloping, and just tannic
