The Pappa al Pomodoro from Le Delizie del Cupin is a ready-to-use product created through collaboration with Tuscan companies to recreate the same consistency, flavor and authenticity of the original but with a touch of Liguria.
Pappa al Pomodoro has traces dating back to the early 1800s, but a written testimony from the early 1900s can be found in the diary of Gian Burrasca by Lugi Bertelli. It became famous throughout Italy with the song sung by Rita Pavone “Viva la pappa col pomodoro” in 1965. Pappa al Pomodoro was a dish used by grandparents because it was a very inexpensive meal yet rich in flavor.
