The Saffron in Whole Stigmas from the Azienda Agricola Cleopatra is a spice of the highest quality, entirely hand-processed according to ancient organic methods to preserve its purity. It is cultivated in San Gavino Monreale, Sardinia, the leading Italian producer since 1300.

The Saffron became famous in Italy, especially in Milan, because a very skilled glassmaker's apprentice, while working on the stained glass of Sant'Elena in the Duomo, added the spice as an "ingredient" to make the glass more golden.
