There are many types of chestnuts grown in Veneto. Ours are special: they are the precious Marroni del Monfenera IGP of medium-large size from the Treviso province.
This Marrone is a jewel of the majestic chestnut trees of the green valleys and mountain slopes of Monte Grappa and Monfenera, in the foothills of the Marca Trevigiana. It is the quintessential autumn delight that heralds winter and says goodbye to summer. A fruit that, more than any other, narrates a passage, a transition.

TASTING
This type of Marrone is very large and flavorful and it is a pleasure to shell it to appreciate its typical scent and aroma. As roasted chestnuts, it is delicious when paired with young wines, preferably novel wines or slightly sparkling wines to cleanse the palate. Classic examples among Italian wines include Lambrusco, Sangue di Giuda, Barbera del Monferrato, and Bonarda.
