Toasted and salted Piemonte IGP hazelnuts 100g

The Hazelnuts Piemonte IGP from Alta Langa, collected and processed by Cascina Fontane, are here roasted and delicately salted. Fragrant, flavorful, simply delicious!

Cascina Fontane performs the roasting using the patented method called “Vertiflow”. A stream of hot air allows the product to be suspended, making it rotate on itself: this ensures uniform cooking of the hazelnuts. Moreover, these hazelnuts, completely dehydrated, are perfectly roasted inside for a decidedly more fragrant taste.
This process does not affect the flavor of the product and cleans the fruits thoroughly, preserving their oily component in the final sorting phase.
The hazelnuts are indeed manually selected one by one to eliminate any defective ones and ensure their perfection.


The Hazelnut Piemonte IGP: excellence from Alta Langa

Alta Langa is the natural homeland of an excellent variety of hazelnuts, belonging to the species Corylus Avellanae: the Tonda Gentile Trilobata, which has been awarded the title of “Protected Geographical Indication” since 1993. Cascina Fontane exclusively produces Hazelnuts Piemonte I.G.P., which, due to their distinctive properties, are the most requested by the confectionery industry, as well as being universally regarded as the best in the world.

Allergens: Tree nuts (hazelnuts). Produced in a facility that also uses soy and milk and its derivatives.

The salted roasted hazelnuts are a wonderful snack! Ideal for accompanying a gourmet aperitif from Piedmont. We recommend pairing it with a Roero Arneis Docg or, for those who always prefer red wine, a good Barbera as well.


IGP Piemonte Roasted Hazelnuts: Preservation Methods

The roasted hazelnut is a raw product, free from preservatives or stabilizers, and requires attention to maintain its chemical, physical, and organoleptic characteristics. Therefore, store the product following these basic rules.
The hazelnut contains proteins and fats that have the peculiarity of absorbing odors. Therefore, if hazelnuts are stored in the same place as odoriferous products, they may take on unwanted aromatic notes. The hazelnut does not only "absorb" the smell of other foods, but can also "absorb" odors emitted by chemical substances or the environments themselves.
Protect the product from moisture. Hazelnuts contain no preservatives: their preservation depends solely on low humidity and low temperature. Light and heat promote rancidity.

La nocciola tostata è un prodotto crudo, senza additivi conservanti o stabilizzanti, e richiede attenzioni per poter mantenere inalterate le sue caratteristiche chimiche, fisiche ed organolettiche. Conservare, quindi, il prodotto seguendo queste regole base.
La nocciola contiene proteine e grassi che presentano la peculiarità di assorbire gli odori. Pertanto, conservando in uno stesso locale le nocciole con prodotti odorosi, le stesse potrebbero assumere note aromatiche indesiderate. La nocciola non “assorbe” soltanto l’odore di altri generi alimentari, ma può “assorbire” odori emanati da sostanze chimiche o dagli stessi ambienti.
Proteggere il prodotto dall’umidità. Le nocciole non contengono conservanti: il loro mantenimento dipende esclusivamente dal basso tasso di umidità e dalla bassa temperatura. La luce ed il calore promuovono l’irrancidimento.
