For your kitchen, to transplant it into a pot or in the garden or even in the vegetable garden, we offer you this plant in a 12 cm diameter pot, already ready for transplanting and blooming that will supply you with lemon thyme whenever you need it to flavor your creations at the stove or your dishes.

The lemon thyme plant is of easy cultivation and finds its ideal environment in gardens, in a sunny position or at least in partial shade.

It can reach a height of 40-50 cm. It does not require a particular soil, as long as it is dry and well-drained, thus with a high quantity of sand. In fact, lemon thyme does not tolerate water stagnation and should be watered only when the soil is dry.

Although it appears to be a delicate plant, it is very robust and can survive for quite some time without water. It can be transplanted from March to the end of July.

Its flowers and leaves can be used both fresh and dried to treat coughs and colds (thanks to their fluidifying and balsamic properties).

From lemon thyme, the flowering tops and leaves are used, collected before and at the beginning of flowering. With its intense citrus flavor, it is often used in the cooking of grilled and boiled meats, grilled and baked fish, to flavor salads, in dressings for pasta and rice dishes.

Excellent for making grilled or steamed vegetables tastier, for baked potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms. It is also used in preserving fruit in alcohol, in fruit sorbets, in herbal infusions, in aromatic liqueurs, and in herb vinegars. It can help solve digestive problems. It has antiseptic properties and until the 1920s, it was the main ingredient in disinfectants.

The Egyptians used it along with ointments for the embalming of mummies; the Greeks considered lemon thyme honey a delicacy; the Romans thought it made them braver and more vigorous, in fact, they often sprinkled themselves with water and thyme.
