The Gyokuro Green Tea is a fine Japanese tea for special occasions, coming from the Shizuoka prefecture. It is harvested from plants covered with sheets for 20 days prior to harvest.
The "covering" of the leaves during the pre-harvest period results in a significant reduction of astringency and thus bitterness, which is typical of some green teas. Particularly rich in vitamins and chlorophyll, which gives it a deep green color and a brackish flavor on the lips.
