A typical product of the Po Valley, the Grana Padano DOP from Agriform is a fine and delicious cheese, a symbol of gastronomic excellence Made in Italy around the world.
Obtained from partially skimmed cow's milk, it is a semi-fat cheese with a hard texture, finely granular, white or straw-colored, encased in a hard, smooth, thick rind of dark yellow color.
It has a fragrant aroma and a truly characteristic and persistent flavor. The production area of Grana Padano DOP extends throughout Northern Italy and largely coincides with the Po Valley region in its territories north of the Po River. It actually encompasses as many as five regions, from Piedmont to Veneto to Emilia Romagna.
In its unmistakable taste, Grana Padano encapsulates centuries of history that find their origin in the 11th century in the heart of the Po Valley, a territory reclaimed by the Cistercian and Benedictine monks, inventors and guardians of the authentic recipe, which has remained unchanged to this day.
In 1954, the Grana Padano protection consortium was established, which in 1996 obtained the DOP designation from the European Community. Currently, Grana Padano is the most sold Italian DOP cheese in the world!
This Grana Padano is the 16-month aged version, a characteristic that makes it a more aged variant of this cheese, even though it is still decidedly "young".

With its elegant and strong flavor, intense yet smooth, Grana Padano DOP from Agriform is excellent to enjoy as a table cheese. Grated, in flakes, or in slices, it can be used both as an ingredient in meat or vegetable fillings, in savoury pies, or in baked dishes, but also to enhance many first courses.
In general, it is a cheese usable for the entire meal as it can enhance every course without overshadowing the other ingredients: delicious on meat carpaccios, on vegetables, and in preparations with eggs, it also lends itself to unique pairings with fruits, jams, and honey or in unusual desserts.
It is perfect to be paired with still white wines, sparkling wines, or spumanti when enjoyed as an aperitif; during the meal or at the end of the meal, it is recommended to pair it with mature red wines.
