We are in Siusi, in one of the most beautiful valleys of South Tyrol. Among the green of the meadows and the blue sky, the 3000-meter Sciliar massif stands out, immortalized by a major confectionery company on its packaging. Here, Florian Rabanser's family still dedicates itself to the practice of distillation in the ancient farmhouse. A tradition that dates back to the distant 1300s. Florian is an eclectic character who splits his time between his passion for producing spirits and a beautiful hotel, the Florian. He doesn't produce large quantities since his operation is subject to an ancient law that is still in force, which limits the amount of alcohol produced to 300 liters per family in South Tyrol. For this reason, Florian has decided to focus entirely on high-value, local raw materials that identify with the culture and tradition of South Tyrol. The pomace is sourced from his friend Klaus Lentsch, whose wines you can find on this site. There is only one deviation for Gin and Rum, Florian's great passion. A product that even reaches 60 degrees, at full strength indeed. Florian's artisanal mastery is also evident in the production of hand-crafted labels for this high-level product. The pure air of South Tyrol and the meticulous attention to detail make these spirits a true Italian gem.
This very dry spirit is produced without added sugars and aged in oak barrels from the Austrian Burgenland that had previously been used for sweet wines.
For this reason, the rum received the silver medal at the IWSC in London, demonstrating the competitiveness of the product.
