The Santapupa Colli Aprutini Pecorino IGT 2023 by Vini La Quercia is a white wine with excellent structure, energetic and of good quality.
Grape: 100% Pecorino.
Altitude: 210 m a.s.l.
Soils: medium texture.
Vineyard: trellis, simple guyot.
Harvest: strictly hand-picked, the first ten days of September after a selection of grapes in the vineyard.
Vinification: once the free-run juice is obtained, it is clarified and started to ferment at a controlled temperature of 14 °C – 16 °C. Aging on its fine lees for about four to six months with frequent bâtonnage.
Alcohol content: 13.5% vol
First vintage produced: 2006.
The label: the company decided to name it Santapupa to evoke the ancient tradition of village festivals, where the celebrations were concluded with the dance of the doll. Additionally, it also refers to the typical expression “Mannaggia santa pupa da pezz!”
The Santapupa Colli Aprutini Pecorino IGT 2023 750ml from Vini La Quercia pairs well with meat and fish appetizers, risottos, and aged cheeses.
Energetic wine with excellent structure, pleasantly soft. Aged in
bottle, it enhances the typical almond notes along with fine fruitiness. It is well-suited for aging, given the good alcohol level and acidity.
