Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG BIO “Vecchie Viti del Salco” 2016 - Salcheto
€ 64,00 for 750ml
The Vecchie Viti del Salco Nobile di Montepulciano BIO DOCG 2016 from the winery Salcheto is a wine coming from the Salco vineyard, the most mature and important of the estate. A 2ha field, with vines aged 29-31 years, entirely cultivated with a company clone of Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile that easily reaches slight over-ripening in every harvest. After 2 years in wood, it ages for up to 2 years in the bottle before being released for sale. This wine, born from the historic experience of the Salco vineyard, is dedicated to the Alliance Vinum project, the union of six producers from Montepulciano aimed at the growth of the individuals and the entire territory.
The 2016 vintage, which has proven to be a year of remarkable depth over the years, stems from a season that could be defined as “old school.” A climatic trend that was fairly regular, slightly late maturations, and a season finale with some rain. The result is a Sangiovese with a more elegant structure than ever, enhancing its earthier and spicier tones.
