Superior category olive oil obtained directly from the olives and solely through mechanical processes.
Let's start with the acknowledgments given the many testimonials for this Evo oil.
2023 is a year of great satisfaction for this oil. In March, it entered the guide "Merum Selezione Olio 2023: Die besten italienischen Olivenöle des Jahrgangs 2022"; subsequently, it was awarded 3 Leaves in the guide “Oli d’Italia” written by Gambero Rosso, achieving a score ranging from 90 to 100 in the category of exceptional and exciting oils. The agricultural company Luigi Ruffo was also named in the Guide to Extravergini by Slow Food Italy 2023 as one of the 40 Italian realities that stand out for the way they interpret productive values (organoleptic, territorial, and environmental).
This is a monovarietal EVO oil obtained from the cold extraction of Grignano cultivar olives from the Illasi area, in the eastern part of Verona. The processing is done through mechanical processes, that is, without the use of chemical processes or substances, in conditions that do not cause alterations to the oil.
The powerful and balanced taste of the Grignano extra virgin olive oil is given, in addition to the Grignano cultivar, also by an extremely calcareous soil (up to 60-70%) that allows for the production of an oil characterized by very low acidity, a very high level of polyphenols, and strong citrus notes, so much so that it seems like oil coming from the sunny areas of southern Italy.
The fruits that the Azienda Agricola Luigi Ruffo uses come from the plots owned by the company and are harvested in the autumn only when the olive meets certain characteristics and is ready to be picked.
The attention given to the care of the plants and the ten days of harvesting ensure that the quality of the oil produced remains stable over the years and that the organoleptic characteristics do not vary. So much so that Luigi, to verify the perfect harvesting time, usually crosses his century-old olive groves on a small caravan and checks the condition of the plants, one by one.

The Grignano extra virgin olive oil is a gourmet oil to be used especially raw, paired with white meat tartare, veal, and raw fish.
Perfect also with soups, vegetable pinzimonio, and to finish off a good pasta dish. During the summer, we recommend trying this oil with fiordilatte ice cream, an extraordinary pairing!
Emerald green in color, this oil is a book of flavors and sensations. Unique in its kind, it releases strong citrus notes on the nose, while on the palate it presents a bold flavor of citrus, almond, and herbs like arugula and dandelion. Another characteristic is the scent of green leaf that characterizes the pristine nature surrounding Luigi's olive groves.
