Riso San Marco is the line of tradition, the result of a completely artisanal processing technique, according to the method used in the ancient rice mills of the Po Valley.
Parboiled Rice, also known as converted rice, is characterized by having undergone a thermal treatment even before husking. To obtain Parboiled rice, in fact, the grains are subjected to a partial steam cooking process while still covered by their fibrous coating. These steps make Parboiled rice easy to work with, more nutritious, more preservable, and more resistant to cooking.
The 300-gram package allows for a specialized consumption of rice: for each dish, the best type of rice, without leaving opened packages, and being able to choose each time which dish to prepare.
The Parboiled Rice from the San Marco line (which we present on this page in a 300g package), whose precooking process removes part of the starch, cooks quite quickly and also holds up well during cooking without falling apart. For this reason, it is preferred over white rice for rice salads, timballs, Greek rice, and all dishes where it is necessary to avoid the rice breaking down. It should definitely be considered a semi-finished ingredient for dishes that can be prepared in advance and reheated at the moment.
