The Pesca Maria Cristina is a variety that is produced with excellent results in the mountain valleys, and the expertise from Piedmont produces them with great success in the Valle Varaita. The cool climate and especially the temperature fluctuations allow for an enrichment of aromatic components and fragrances. A beautiful size with flesh that is particularly rich in juice and a nice balance between acidity and sweetness. Peaches with a thin external fuzz that are very flavorful and particularly thick and crunchy. Ideal for jams and juices for its richness in juice.
This peach grown and ripened in the mountains is particularly sweet with a nice component of natural freshness.
An ideal acidity for making fresh juices for the summer and as a base for fruit sorbets. The Maria Cristina variety is also widely used for making peach melba to serve in cups of vanilla or cream ice cream. For jams and compotes with a little sugar added, even better if natural. They are peaches with a slightly thicker skin, making them perfect for decorating fruit cakes, tarts, and clafoutis.
