The ciccioli frolli are a typical specialty from Emilia Romagna: a delicious food born long ago as sustenance for the poorer class, but today it is considered a delicacy even by the most refined palates.
Obtained from the melting of pig fats and the filtering of lard, ciccioli frolli are a snack suitable as either an appetizer or a hunger-relieving snack.
They are offered in three packages of 250 grams each.
In Romagna, many bakers add them to white pizza or along with white baked goods. It is customary in wine shops or local trattorias to serve them with fresh, light, and young sparkling red wine.
