The Mazzetti d’Altavilla Distillery has re-interpreted an ancient secret recipe from the Benedictine Monastery that once stood atop Altavilla Monferrato: the Amaro Forte was born as a concentrate of the herbs from the hortus simplicium, the ancient garden of simple medicines of the monks, where plants and aromatic herbs were once cultivated for the creation of compounds and medicines.
