The Langhe Nebbiolo In Amphoris DOC 2022 from theAzienda Agricola Ronchi is a red wine from Piedmont produced with the finest Nebbiolo grapes and matured in terracotta amphorae.
Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Vineyards: Municipality of Barbaresco, in the geographical mention "Ronchi" and a small vineyard near the farmhouse
Soil: clayey-limestone soil on a marl skeleton.
Farming: almost entirely manual of the planted rows respecting the contour lines. The pruning method is traditional Guyot with modifications leaving 8-10 buds on the fruiting shoot. Autumnal soil processing is carried out in alternate rows, sowing legumes and other cover crops. No chemical fertilization or herbicide is practiced. Pest treatments are based on integrated pest management and the sexual confusion method using pheromones against the vine moth.
Harvest: the grapes are hand-picked generally between late September and early October.
Vinification: starts with the destemming of the bunches and gentle pressing. The fermentation with maceration takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 28-30°C for 10-12 days.
Maturation: the maturation occurs in terracotta amphora for about a year, followed by an adequate refinement in the bottle.
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol

Color: bright, between ruby and garnet, of medium depth
Aroma: fine, original, fruity with sensations of dried flowers, raspberry jam, and dried plum along with a surprising spicy note of white pepper
Taste: fresh, decidedly tannic, vibrant, yet robust and full-bodied
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
