Valpolicella Superiore DOC Campo Prognare 2004

Flavio offers us the opportunity to taste the first version of Campo Prognare when it was still a Valpolicella DOC. Today, the IGT marks a turnaround for a product that takes on greater characteristics of interpretive extremism. In 2004, that wine was more subtle and relied more on the vitality of the less round and more straightforward tannin. Enjoyability and balance are always ensured by the exquisite finish of the young winemaker. The aging process makes this wine, with great personality, very intriguing and surprising.

Valpolicella Superiore DOC Campo Prognare 2004: How is it produced

Azienda Agricola I Campi, Veneto

Flavio Prà represents that generation of young Veneto winemakers who have conquered the most important national oenological realities. His story begins as a child among the fermenting tanks of his father's winery. Scents and sensations accompanied little Flavio's dreams and became real among the Berici hills where Count Piovene captures his passion and expertise and lets him manage the company's great wines. A story that started by knocking on a door, as he says. Flavio has always nurtured the dream of elevating his territory in the glass. An idea of fine wine that has materialized over the past ten years, leading to the construction of a brand new winery among the noble gravels of the Illasi valley, in Cellore. He chose perfect lands for the production of great Soave and Valpolicella wines. Exciting wines that quickly became icons of a new great production story in the Veneto region. I Campi was the most fitting name for Flavio's dream. His Soave Campo Vulcano has been immediately awarded and, for six consecutive vintages, recognized as one of the best wines in Italy with the Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso. His Valpolicella is resonant, imposing, elegant, and substantial. His Amarone Campo Marna 500 is a true rarity, made from grapes grown at 550 meters above sea level. A mountain production with a strong communicative power from a wild territory in the white marly soils of the high Valle di Mezzane. Flavio Prà's wines improve their potential with aging, and exclusively for us, he offers the unique opportunity to taste old vintages of his greatest products. Enjoy!
