Alba Vitae 2016 - Head of State 2009 Magnum

Ais Veneto once again promotes a beautiful charity initiative in favor of FormArte Centro Studi e Ricerche, a cultural association of social promotion, non-profit, for the development of the Supporto Scolastico Armonico project, dedicated to students facing problems and difficulties.

This year a great red wine has been chosen: the Capo di Stato 2009 from Loredan Gasparini winery in Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello (TV). This wine is born from the selection of the best grapes of the company and particularly from the historic vineyard of 1946 of the “100 plants” with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec grapes, where the microclimate of Montello (in the Alta Marca Trevigiana) gives it a distinct personality. For this charitable initiative, a magnum bottle in a precious format will be offered: an excellent gift idea for the Christmas holidays.

CURIOSITY

Its fame comes from a famous gaffe, which occurred in Venice in 1967, when the French general and president De Gaulle was visiting for the Biennale. At the Gritti Hotel, he was served a Venegazzù Rosso and he praised it as “extraordinary Bordeaux”. It was the international consecration of a wine born in the heart of Alta Marca Trevigiana, which from that moment took the name Capo di Stato.

Alba Vitae 2016 - Head of State 2009 Magnum: use in the kitchen

The red wine Capo di Stato 2009 is well suited for pairing with main courses of red meat, such as tagliata or a succulent fiorentina, first courses based on meat, such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù, and aged cheeses like Vezzena Stravecchio or Occelli al Barolo.

TASTING

It is a wine deep and warm in color, with an intense and fascinating aroma, rich in berries and light spices. Full-bodied with sweet but significant tannins, on the palate it is seductive and endless.

Alcohol: 14%
