Dried sage in a jar 20g

The dried sage from the Azienda Agricola Cleopatra is a product dried under the sun of Sardinia using organic and natural methods, without the use of chemical substances and completely handcrafted.

Sage: Characteristics

Sage (Salvia officinalis) is a plant from the Laminaceae family and is a small evergreen shrub with thick, wrinkled, oval leaves covered in fluff.

Sage has many organoleptic properties. Its leaves contain phenolic acids, flavonoids, and an essential oil made up of thujone, cineole, borneol, linalool, beta-terpineol, and beta-caryophyllene. Its flavonoids exert an estrogenic effect in women, stimulating the hormonal system and alleviating menopausal disorders. Carnosic acid and triterpenes give sage anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, providing a good response against water retention, edema, rheumatism, and headaches. Thanks to the presence of essential oil with antiseptic and balsamic properties, it is useful in treating respiratory system disorders such as colds, coughs, sore throats, and fever. Additionally, sage has antispasmodic and hypoglycemic properties.
