Dried thyme in a 20g jar

The dried thyme from the Azienda Agricola Cleopatra is a product dried under the sun of Sardinia using organic and natural methods, without the use of chemical substances and completely hand-crafted.

Thyme: Characteristics

The genus Thymus belongs to the family of Labiateae, with about 350 species of plants including common thyme (Thymus vulgaris), which is native to the Western Mediterranean and is widely distributed in Italy in its wild or cultivated state. The leaves of thyme are small and elongated, green-gray in color and covered with a dense fuzz.

Thyme contains thymol (powerful antiseptic, antispasmodic, and vermifuge), linoleic acid, and minerals such as manganese, iron, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It also has high levels of vitamin C and B vitamins. A powerful digestive and carminative, thyme is considered a tonic and a stimulant for the digestive system. From the perspective of alternative medicine, it is regarded as a natural antibiotic, a powerful disinfectant, and antibacterial.

Dried thyme in a 20g jar: use in the kitchen

The dried thyme from the Azienda Agricola Cleopatra can be used both for infusions, but also to enhance delicious culinary recipes. Thyme is excellent for flavoring salads, soups, meat dishes (such as roasts, stews, casseroles, and dishes), fish and marinades. It is also used in stuffings, with cheeses, sauces, and dips, and to flavor raw or cooked vegetables (grilled, steamed, or baked). Paired with legumes, it makes them easier to digest. It is also used in aromatic vinegars and oils, digestives, and herbal liqueurs.

To prepare an aromatic infusion: put a teaspoon of dried leaves to infuse for 10 minutes in a covered cup of 250 ml of boiling water.

To be stored in its original jar in a dark, cool, and dry place.
The indicative expiry date is 2 years from the packaging date.
