The Alto Adige Riesling DOC from Tenuta Castel Englar is a South Tyrolean rarity with a special character.
Grapes: 100% Riesling
Vine age: 35 years
Training system: Guyot
Location: 500 m above sea level, south-facing slope in slight incline
Soil: moraine mixed with some limestone
Vinification: Two harvest passes with manual selection of ripe grapes over a period of 4 weeks, controlled separate fermentation in stainless steel tanks, 8 months of aging on fine lees, followed by blending, filtration, and bottling in mid-August.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol

The Riesling from the Alto Adige DOC designation by Tenuta Castel Englar is always dry and fully fermented, meaning it has no residual sugar. For this reason, it pairs very well with appetizers made of fish and seafood. It is also a great match with vegetable dishes.
On the nose floral notes and a scent of apricots and peaches, a nice note after hay herbs and aromatic herbs; in the mouth a balanced sugar-acid play with good minerality; long finish.
This Alto Adige doc can be stored for between 6 and 10 years by keeping it away from direct light and in ideal temperature conditions.
