This Upside Down Rosato Cold Skin Maceration produced by the Sandro De Bruno agricultural company, grown on the volcanic hills between Roncà and Montecchia di Crosara, in the province of Verona. Thanks to the volcanic soils that host the vineyards, the grapes convey very pleasant mineral and savory notes, alternating with fruity, citrusy, and aromatic herb scents. It is a wine with a fresh and enveloping taste.
Alcohol content: 12%
Grapes: Pinot Grigio 100%
The peculiarity of this Upside Down Rosato Cold Skin Maceration is the cold skin maceration at 5/6 °C in tank, for about 4/5 days. Fermentation is initiated by raising the temperature and then pressing. This is followed by fermentation in oak barrels, with subsequent aging on its own lees for 5 months, until bottling.
The Sandro De Bruno Agricultural Company, run by Sandro Tasoniero and his wife Marina Ferraretto, was founded in 2002 with the aim of producing wines that best represent the vocation of the territory in which they are born... Go to the Sandro De Bruno winery profile
Upside Down Rosato Cold Skin Maceration Sandro De Bruno: appetizers and cicchetti
Perfect as an aperitif paired with a summer bruschetta with cherry tomatoes and basil, truffle cheese, cacio e pepe, or Gourmet pizza.
Try it for an alternative spritz: pour a nice glass of UPSIDE-DOWN, ice, seltzer, and two sprigs of fresh lavender.
Serving temperature: 10/12 °C.
This Upside Down Rosato Cold Skin Maceration produced by the Sandro De Bruno farm presents an intense and shiny coral red color, with great luminosity and consistency due to the long maceration on the skins. It is intense, rich, and pleasantly fragrant. It opens on the nose like an intriguing juice of small red fruits, currants, blackberries, raspberries, and pomegranate, along with prickly pear and medlar. It continues with fresher notes reminiscent of an undergrowth after a summer rain, freshly cut grass, blooming rosemary, and floral hints of geranium and hibiscus. It gradually becomes more complex with hints of wet tobacco, licorice, rhubarb, almond paste, and exotic touches of sandalwood. In closing, fresh mineral notes of ironstone. Dry, fresh, and savory, the slight and pleasant tannic astringency pairs finely with the crunchy red fruit and citrus sensations. A balanced finish with elegant persistence.
Highly recommended to accompany first and second courses of fish in sauce.
