The Gualano farm was founded in Puglia in 2000 with the aim of cultivating high-quality products, respecting the environment and enhancing the territory. For over twenty years, we have been committed to the production of cereals and legumes, ensuring traceability and genuineness.
In 2020, the company introduced the cultivation of goji, an innovative choice that allowed us to expand the offering with a superfood boasting extraordinary beneficial properties. In 2021, they launched the MEYIA brand, with which they transform goji into unique and healthy products. From 2024, they have started the production of pestos with Goji, combining tradition and innovation.
Meyia: what is behind this name?
The first question we asked - also considering our name Spaghetti & Mandolino - was about the choice of the name: different, not sounding Italian, not recalling the connection to the land, and sounding little like typical Italian products.
Digging deeper, the answer that convinced us was that in Puglia - our land of origin - when you don’t feel like doing something, moms only say three words to encourage you to do it: “Me jià! Muov’t!”.
This is where Meyia is born, which is kind of an extension between the idea of one's own land and an encouragement to change one’s lifestyle by adding that touch of health to the Made in Italy style!

Most of the Goji berries commonly marketed in Italy come from China and contain preservatives like sulfites. Fortunately, however, there is an Italian reality that produces these berries.
Thanks to its geographical location (Puglia) the warm sun of the south allows for the production of excellent quality, natural berries without the use of preservatives.

The pestos contain a healthy and natural superfood. This, combined with the refined taste and strong character, creates a unique combination of flavors and wellness.
